2011 DCS Dead Chiropractic Society California Jam Best Yet

A massive storm moved through Orange County California this past weekend. Outside it was hail and torrential sideways rain, wreaking havoc throughout the Southland, inside it was chiropractic thunder and spine sizzling lightning, as chiropractors from around the world gathered together for the fourth annual DCS Chiropractic California Jam. DCS and Dr. Bill Demoss did it again, making Southern California the center of the chiropractic universe.

Sherman College Appoints Vice President for Enrollment Services

Kelley Jones Ashcraft has been appointed vice president for enrollment services and will direct Sherman College of Chiropractic’s efforts to build student interest in chiropractic as a career and increase enrollment in the doctor of chiropractic program at Sherman College. Prior to her work in higher education, Jones Ashcraft worked as a marketing analyst and planner at Milliken & Company. She holds an MBA from the University of South Carolina, a bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences from Clemson University and has completed coursework toward a doctorate in higher education administration.

COCSA partners with Army OneSource to launch Healing Hands 4 Heroes

COCSA formalized the partnership by launching a nationwide program, Healing Hands 4 Heroes, and by becoming the first health care profession to sign an Army Community Covenant. With a registration code from the local State Chiropractic Association, chiropractors can register free of charge for any of the three courses: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Issues of Women Returning from Combat.

Golf Club Swing Speed Record Broken

It is a simple physics equation in golf: the higher the swing speed, the farther the golf ball travels. The average PGA Tour player generates a swing speed in the neighborhood of 110 MPH. Maurice Allen, a first year chiropractic student at Life University, recorded the highest ever swing of 161 MPH as recorded on the Momentus® Speed Whoosh, a golf training aid.

Ronald Reagan Centennial Super Bowl XLV Tribute WOC

If you had the privilege to attend Super Bowl XLV between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers today, you’d get to see a centennial tribute video to Ronald Reagan just before kickoff, playing inside the stadium, on one of the worlds biggest TV screens.
