2009 Rock and Roll Marathon San Diego Results and Photos

More than 20,000 hit the streets for this years 2009 San Diego Marathon. Billed as the Rock and Roll Marathon, runners and walkers alike, took to the pavement for 26.2 miles of outdoor Rock-N-Roll excitement. More than 40 live bands performed and thousands of cheerleading peeps lined the 26.2 mile course, making the event even more exhilarating for those participating. The race began at Sixth Avenue and Palm Street near Balboa Park and this years finish was at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Point Loma.

It’s that time of year again, when hundreds of bloggers and tech geeks, converge on the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, for WordCamp 2009. This is the third year straight I’m heading to San Francisco for the event, and as in the past, I’m rather excited about it. LA Marathon 2009 Results and Photos

It’s Marathon Monday in Los Angeles. This morning, fifteen thousand runners took to the streets of downtown Los Angeles, on a marathon course that ran through LA, on a 26.2 mile route back into downtown Los Angeles, with a finish line at 5th Street & Flower Street. Hundreds of thousands of cheering fans lined the streets as 2009 Los Angeles Marathon participants passed by, making their way downhill and then uphill (2009 LA Marathon course is fairly fast and flat), through neighborhoods and business districts, experiencing mild LA temperatures, and relying on both internal and external motivation, as they reached the homestretch, and finally the finish.

The 2009 Los Angeles Marathon is scheduled for Memorial Day Monday, which is one week from today. Many local runners are hoping June gloom arrives a little bit early, bringing with it a marine layer and cooler temperatures throughout the Southland. San Francisco 2009 Bay to Breakers Results and Photos

The world wackiest road race took place today in San Francisco, with Kenya’s 22-year-old Sammy Kitwara, crushing an existing record for the San Francisco Bay to Breakers 12K race. Kitwara ran the 12 kilometer distance in a time of 33:31 with an average running pace of 4:30, beating all previous records in the 98-year-old San Francisco foot race. ING did a terrific job with this year’s 2009 Bay to Breakers event, and lots of photos have already appeared online, thanks to Twitter and photo sharing sites like Flickr.

2009 Green Bay Marathon

It’s marathon weekend in Green Bay, and with a record number of runners already signed up for race day, the Green Bay Marathon 2009 is looking like a spectacular running event. Besides the 26.2 mile marathon, there is a half marathon, as well as a 5K event. Registration for the half marathon is officially closed, with an estimated 4000 participants registered. It’s the 10th annual Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, which begins and ends at the famous Lambeau Field.

2009 Bay to Breakers San Francisco

In its 98th year, the ING Bay to Breakers 12K, is one of the world’s largest and oldest foot races. The 2009 San Francisco Bay to Breakers race takes place this Sunday, May 17. The Bay to Breakers name reflects the traditional course which takes tens of thousands of participants from the northeast end of downtown San Francisco to Ocean Beach, or the West End of the city. 2009 Preakness Stakes on May 16

The Preakness Stakes takes place this Saturday at Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore, Maryland. Inaugurated in 1873, the Preakness is held on the third Saturday of May each year. As a kid I was fortunate to spend many Sundays at Belmont Race Track in New York, thanks to parents and relatives deeply interested in thoroughbred horse racing. This chiropractor remembers Woody Woodpecker cartoons playing on the TV screens in the early 1970s, probably something that was done to keep kids entertained while parents placed their bets. We never made the trip to Baltimore for the Preakness, but there were a few to the Kentucky Derby throughout the 1970s. As always, any chiropractor selling products online is advised to watch out for potential scams and fraud when posting classified ads. A Nigerian Scammer Loaded Martins contacted someone earlier this week, hoping to get them to wire money overseas. It’s a good practice to take the extra steps in getting to know who you’re dealing with, before sharing any personal or specific information when buying or selling via chiropractic classifieds online. A simple reply to e-mails asking somebody what chiropractic college they attended, is a good way to start.

2009 Green Bay Marathon

It’s marathon weekend in Green Bay, and with a record number of runners already signed up for race day, the Green Bay Marathon 2009 is looking like a spectacular running event. Besides the 26.2 mile marathon, there is a half marathon, as well as a 5K event. Registration for the half marathon is officially closed, with an estimated 4000 participants registered. It’s the 10th annual Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, which begins and ends at the famous Lambeau Field.

2009 Bay to Breakers San Francisco

In its 98th year, the ING Bay to Breakers 12K, is one of the world’s largest and oldest foot races. The 2009 San Francisco Bay to Breakers race takes place this Sunday, May 17. The Bay to Breakers name reflects the traditional course which takes tens of thousands of participants from the northeast end of downtown San Francisco to Ocean Beach, or the West End of the city. The 7.46 mile race features world-class athletes as well as colorful costumed runners and lots of fun loving people out for a great day of running and walking through San Francisco.

2009 Preakness Stakes on May 16

The Preakness Stakes takes place this Saturday at Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore, Maryland. Inaugurated in 1873, the Preakness is held on the third Saturday of May each year. As a kid I was fortunate to spend many Sundays at Belmont Race Track in New York, thanks to parents and relatives deeply interested in thoroughbred horse racing. This chiropractor remembers Woody Woodpecker cartoons playing on the TV screens in the early 1970s, probably something that was done to keep kids entertained while parents placed their bets. We never made the trip to Baltimore for the Preakness, but there were a few to the Kentucky Derby throughout the 1970s. This years stunning Kentucky Derby win by Mine That Bird will likely increase television viewership for the 2009 Preakness, as people from around the world tune in to see The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans.

Toothpick Acupuncture for Chronic Low Back Pain

Chronic low back pain is a plague on America, and when it comes to its treatment, there is a long laundry list of therapies and approaches people rely on. A recent study published in the May issue of The Archives of Internal Medicine suggests that acupuncture is an effective treatment for chronic low back pain. When it comes to sending media releases online, what goes for other industries also goes for the industry of chiropractic. Those that send out news releases and media information, can expect to see an increase in website related traffic. News releases can be seen on Planet Chiropractic several times a week, and sources range from chiropractic schools to chiropractic organizations and nonprofit groups. News releases are sometimes submitted by chiropractors practicing the field, but there is room for how-to learning, by studying what’s being approved when it comes to chiropractic news releases.

232 new classified advertisements in the queue since the beginning of May, with ads for items such as a myovision 8000, x-ray processor, hydraulic hand dynamometer, high frequency x-ray, impulse adjusting instruments, patient education systems, and chiropractic practices for sale. As always, any chiropractor selling products online is advised to watch out for potential scams and fraud when posting classified ads. A Nigerian Scammer Loaded Martins contacted someone earlier this week, hoping to get them to wire money overseas. It’s a good practice to take the extra steps in getting to know who you’re dealing with, before sharing any personal or specific information when buying or selling via chiropractic classifieds online. A simple reply to e-mails asking somebody what chiropractic college they attended, is a good way to start.
