First Class to Graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida

PORT ORANGE — Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, Port Orange, Fla., will graduate its first class at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Thirty students will receive their Doctor of Chiropractic degrees during the graduation convocation, which will feature a commencement address by Donald Kern, D.C., president of Palmer College of Chiropractic Davenport.

Vickie A. Palmer, H.C.D. (Hon.), great granddaughter of the founder of chiropractic and chairman of the Board of Trustees of Palmer College of Chiropractic, also will participate in the program.

“This event is the culmination of several years of hard work by officials at Palmer Florida as well as the students in our first graduating class,” said Peter Martin, D.C., president of Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida and Palmer College of Chiropractic West. “Our pioneer class has set a standard for excellence and community involvement. Palmer Florida and its students look forward to serving the profession in the state of Florida for many years to come.”

Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, which opened in 2002, is a branch campus of Palmer College of Chiropractic, the profession’s founding college. Students can earn a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree after receiving a bachelor’s degree from an undergraduate college and completing four-and-a-quarter academic years of clinical and classroom instruction at Palmer Florida.

    Do you have to be a health nut to be healthy?

    The medical approach to health has come to dominate the field of primary health services in our country over the span of the last half-century or so. It goes like this. First, the doctor identifies and lists all the clinical signs and symptoms exhibited by the patient. Second, the resulting list is compared to named diseases and their lists of signs and symptoms. These are then matched up and the patient gets labeled with one or more diseases. Third, the doctor prescribes a treatment to cure the diagnosed disease. Almost universally, this consists of taking medication, due to the underlying philosophy of medicine. When you are ill, you take a pill.

    Chiropractic Domain Practices – 301 Redirects

    A chiropractor e-mailed me the other night with a really great question regarding domains. He mentioned that he owned a number of domains related to the field of chiropractic and he had questions regarding setting up multiple websites for one’s chiropractic office. After purchasing the domains he stated “I’ve never really been sure what to do with them besides use domain-forwarding to pipe them straight to my website.” He then asked the question… “When you purchase alternate domains for your office, do you copy the content from your main site and replicate it onto the new domain? Or do you domain-forward them all?” It came to light that this is a very important topic to be discussed amongst chiropractors (and other small-business owners working with more than one website). Two very important topics to discuss: domain-forwarding & replicating content (a.k.a. duplicate content).
