2009 Postal Holidays – In 2009, USPS changes in delivery services and office closures take place on January 1, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday (also in January), Presidents’ Day (in February), Memorial Day (May), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (September), Columbus Day (October), Veterans Day (November and on a Wednesday this year), Thanksgiving day (4th Thursday in November), Christmas Day (December), and New Year’s Day January 2010.
