DALLAS — Parker College of Chiropractic presented sponsor scholarships to four students during an all-school assembly. The student recipients were awarded for their leadership and contributions to the college.

Jarrett Browning, tri-three, was awarded with a three thousand dollar memorial scholarship in memory of the late Dr. Matthew Cacka. Dr. Cacka graduated from Parker in 2007. After graduation, he established a practice in Oregon. Dr. Cacka’s family and several of his classmates were in attendance during the scholarship presentation where they watched a special video tribute to Dr. Cacka.

“Matthew appreciated the training and preparation that Parker had given him,” said his mother, Dawn Cacka. “He was always so enthusiastic and passionate about anything that he did. He was so happy to be a chiropractor, making a difference in his patients’ lives. He would be pleased to know we are supporting a fellow Parker student’s journey, so his passion can live on in others.”

Browning, elected as student body vice president, has served as president on the student senate for tri’s one and two. He was also a delegate for the World Congress of Chiropractic Students (WCCS) conference. He participates as a member of both Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) and the Student Texas Chiropractic Association (STCA). He serves as a tour guide at Parker and volunteers during Parker Seminars as a session monitor.

Standard Process Inc., a nutritional food supplement manufacturer, presented the two thousand dollar Standard Process Student Scholarship to tri-three student, Lauren Jessup. Involved in numerous clubs and organizations at Parker, Jessup created a student body committee that provides awareness about developments at Parker.

A standout student, Jessup was awarded with a second scholarship, receiving an additional one thousand dollars from the Drucker Labs Student Scholarship.

“The scholarships will further my education by allowing me to attend several seminars that I’ve wanted to attend for a while now,” said Jessup. “I registered for a 100 hour certification program in August and had to withdraw because I did not have the funds to attend. Now I have the means to follow through with my commitment. The scholarships are a blessing that will last throughout my career because technique is something I can use forever.”

Matt Rayner, tri-six, was presented with the Dr. Gilles Lamarche Student Scholarship awarding him one thousand dollars. Rayner is a dedicated member of the Pediatric Club and the Carrick Neurology Diplomate program. He serves as captain for Parker’s intramural volleyball. Rayner also volunteers with hockey teams in the North Texas area.

Jonnathan Camacho, tri-seven, received a one thousand dollar scholarship from Chiro One Wellness Centers. Camacho is active in the Parker Military Association and Parker’s Puerto Rico Recruiting Team. He’s also a member of SACA.

“This scholarship is a huge relief at the end of this trimester when scholarship funds start to dwindle,” said Camacho.
