Because Parker represents education and health care, Parker attendees focused on vital issues from both aspects. Parker students shared personal stories with legislators and expressed why they feel so strongly about the issues. Additional topics discussed included the freedom to diagnose, the safety of chiropractic, patients’ right to choose their care providers, preserving state funded student scholarships, and more.

“It’s extremely important for us to be advocates for our patients and our profession,” said Dr. Fabrizio Mancini, president of Parker College of Chiropractic.

The group also attended a reception held by the TCA where they met with additional legislators.

Numerous people showed tremendous support and assisted in making the day a success by sponsoring the trip including TCA District 5, Parker graduate and Parker Board of Trustees Member; Dr. Marsha Heikkinen, Parker graduate; Dr. Paul Heikkinen, Dr. Paul Liechty; graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, and Dr. Phil Cook; Parker Board of Trustees Member and graduate of Texas Chiropractic College.
