Where will amazing happen this year? – NBA Finals on ABC

Across the street from the Staples Center in LA, a ginourmous LCD screen displays advertising information for The Finals on ABC. Where will amazing happen this year? Ask most basketball fans, especially Lakers fans, and they’ll tell you this NBA Finals has been quite amazing already. Aside from Game 1 in LA, the matchups have been thrilling, to say the least.

As of today, the Los Angeles Lakers lead the 2009 NBA Finals by 3-1 over the Orlando Magic. NBA Game 5 is huge, and it could be the most watched the game in the series yet. For those watching the game live on ABC, it’s an earlier start than Game 4, so be sure to tune in by 7:30 PM on the East Coast (4:30 PM on the West Coast) to watch pregame highlights.

An amazing amount of physical strength and stamina is required to play like these teams have been playing. The emotional and mental components manifest physically, increasing levels of pressure and stress on everyone in the game. I remember being in a hotel room with John Stockton of the Utah Jazz, along with his team chiropractor, talking about the physical and mental stresses endured during an NBA career. Game 5 in this year’s finals, turns up the pressure, to its maximal point.

Depending on your perspective, this is viewed as Lakers Game 5 or Magic Game 5, and you either want to finish it off tonight, or carry it on to Los Angeles for Game 6. While there are fans in LA that would be happy to see the finals closeout at home, I’m sure they would take an LA Lakers Parade over the risk of Orlando’s Magic making history with a come back.

In our coverage of previous NBA Finals games, we gave tips on following the games online, and interacting with others. Until this 2009 NBA Finals series is through, the info provided is still useful. In order from Game 4 to Game 1, here’s our list of previous posts. Lakers Vs Magic Game 4, Game 3 Lakers Vs Magic, Lakers Vs Magic Game 2 NBA Finals, and Lakers Magic Game 1 NBA Finals.

Derek Fisher was the superstar of Game 4, who will be the MVP of Game 5? Either way, they’ll be plenty of NBA video online after the game. Lakers fans can use these search queries to find those results quickly. Will Derek Fisher do it again? Will Kobe Bryant achieve Golden Ring number four? Will the 64-year-old Phil Jackson make history for the most NBA titles ever won?

While I’ve talked about the possibilities of an NBA Lakers Parade taking place in Los Angeles this week, I won’t count out the Magic. They could become the first team in finals history to overcome a 3 to 1 deficit. Time will tell.
