March 2008 Review of Chiropractic News Archives planetc1.com-news@2:00 pm PST From as early as last week, to news from the turn-of-the-century, there is often times stories and articles we may have missed that deserve greater attention. But with the growth of social media, RSS feeds, and an abundance of news related web sites, there's tons of information coming at us from all directions, and we don't have the time to browse through content from the past. On this website, I'm hoping to make that a little bit easier, with a monthly glimpse into chiropractic news articles from 2000 through to the present. planetc1.com-news@1:22 pm PST Browse around the reception area of most medically minded health-care facilities and you're likely to come across magazines of all types. Besides your traditional publications, like National Geographic, you may expect to find common publications like Time, People, Sports Illustrated, Forbes, and maybe even the Robb Report. However, there's a good possibility that magazines displayed in the offices of chiropractors, and other holistic health care practitioners, won't include those you'd likely see at your major chain supermarket checkout stand. There are two primary reasons for that.

planetc1.com-news@1:03 pm PST Regardless of your e-mail provider, chances are there is spam in your e-mail inbox. This topic has been covered a gazillion times but it's usually focused on the types of spam most of us typically receive. There's the lottery winnings, the small-business loans, the cheap rates on medication, real estate and stock deals, and such. Spam like this is probably sent in the billions each day, and it's a major drain on user productivity, electricity, and computer resources. Nobody likes spam (except maybe spammers) so why is it such a common practice for businesses to spam within their industry niches?

Rapid Spread of MRSA Drug Resistant Staph Bacteria in Hospitals planetc1.com-news@10:55 am PST The medical community is divided over what approach should be taken in controlling the rapid spread of drug resistant Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria in hospitals and other crisis care facilities. There are professionals with the belief that hospitals should be performing widespread screening on large numbers of patients, isolating those that match positive for methicillin-resistant stapholoccocus aureus (MRSA) infection. Others argue that a widespread screening approach can be both inefficient and costly. In a recent study, such screenings reportedly resulted in expenses hospitals didn't need, with no decrease in hospital acquired infections occurring.

planetc1.com-news@9:24 pm PST When it comes to discussing small business approaches, there is no argument that developing a service minded client strategy, can reap both short-term and long-term benefits. It's easy to categorize a topic like this into a marketing pigeonhole, but there is a multitude of other reasons why businesses put such an emphasis on customer service. I reviewed a group of chiropractic articles featuring the topic of serving others, and I discovered more than the few motivational words of wisdom.
planetc1.com-news@9:58 pm PST Before the advent of the measles vaccine, a dozen or so cases of measles would have been considered, well, too measly to make the headlines. In the naming process, a typical chiropractor would determine what other names were being used in the community and steer clear of those. If not using their last name for their clinic (Smith Chiropractic) it wouldn't be uncommon that they would choose one of several popular chiropractic office names, usually ones they've heard being used by friends and colleagues in other states. The Internet and the desire for one's office name to rank well in search engines has changed that, at least for now.

planetc1.com-news@10:43 pm PST A Friday evening should not be spent searching one's web site for content that's difficult to find.
