A Chiropractic Warrior Has Passed
planetc1.com-news email to the editor
By Dr. Rick Wren

Dear Colleagues and Friends, we have lost another great one in our profession. If you ever attended a Parker Seminar within the last 40 years (because he never missed one), you would remember a big, tall, and smiling guy with a bow tie around his neck. His name was Dr. Art Aston from Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Art AstonDr. Art was in charge of finding the new talent in the Chiropractic Profession. He would invite them to speak in front of smaller sharing groups, and then they could later develop into one of the regular speakers at Parker. Almost all the regular speakers at Parker for the last 30 years or more were developed by Art Aston. This includes names that you would recognize elsewhere like David Singer and others.

Art's job was not glamorous, but he was always pushing young unknowns to get on stage and tell their story. Then he would listen to their unskilled talks over and over. When they were ready to speak in the main columns, he would send them on. His beautiful wife Doris would always sit on the second row paying respect to her husband and the unknown talent. This went on for about 200 seminars, attending all six per year the majority of the time.

Art practiced up until pancreatic cancer hit him in December, 2001 and he went to the hospital to see what was wrong. He never returned to practice in Kentucky, but he now practices in a much more divine place since Sunday January 27th, 2002.

I had the tremendous pleasure of receiving an award for Dr. Art Aston in front of 7,000 people in Las Vegas 2 weeks ago. What an honor it was to stand in his place and watch 7,000 people give Art a standing ovation. Doris was able to tell Art of the standing ovation he received before his passing. On Arts behalf and commitment I hope to see you in Dallas in April (www.parkerseminars.com).

With Tears of Joy and Sadness, LLL, Dr. Rick Wren
