One of the biggest shopping days of the year is the day after Christmas. This year you may find that staying home and taking advantage of online shopping deals may be just as rewarding as fighting crowds at local department stores and malls. Online, many stores are planning to open access to after Christmas sales the day of Christmas. For Malls & department stores, 2008 after Christmas sales shoppers may have to brave the cold, and get up plenty early, since some major department stores (like JCPenney) will be opening at 5:30 a.m.

But it’s not the day after Christmas yet, so besides putting together a list of after holiday sales, I searched out some information on what stores are open on Christmas Eve, and stores open on Christmas. After Holiday Sale – Target.com – The Target 2-Day Sale begins the day after Christmas. Best way to locate local Target holiday hours is to use the websites store locator. On this page, you can enter your zip code to find a Target store, and here you can view all Target stores in the United States (there are no Target stores in Hawaii or Vermont). Target is offering clearance products and promotions of up to 75% on items such as electronics, furniture, holiday décor, and clothing.
Holiday Deals at Dell – Dell.com – Dell is offering seasons savings with deals on laptops as low as $499. Select 15 inch laptops, like the Dell Inspiron 1525, are available from $499 and up, depending on options. Check the Dell website for online after Christmas savings specials.
After Christmas Sale – Amazon.com – Big savings and free shipping offers from Amazon.com the day after Christmas. When it comes to toys, Amazon is hosting December deals with prices as low as 70% off. Sesame Street toys, Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars, High School Musical items, and lots of other toys are available at Amazon.com.
Biggest after Christmas Sale Ever – JCPenney – JCPenney department store has announced that they will be hosting their biggest After Christmas sale ever, with stores opening at 5:30 a.m. In the history of JCPenney, this is the earliest stores have opened on the day after Christmas. To locate a JCPenney store near you, go to their online store locator, and enter your ZIP code.
Wal-Mart After Christmas Sales – Is Walmart open on Christmas? Wal-Mart is not open on Christmas but Wal-Mart stores are open on Christmas Eve. Wal-Mart stores will close at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will reopen at 6 a.m. on Friday, the day after Christmas. To find the WalMart store nearest you, go to the Wal-Mart website and look for the store finder at the top of the site (it’s right next to the WalMart logo). Enter a zip code to find local Wal-Mart stores. Summary for Wal-Mart in case you missed it… Walmart Christmas Hours – Closed on Christmas. Walmart Holiday Hours – closing at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and opening at 6 a.m. the day after Christmas. Store hours are subject to change. What stores are open on Christmas day? Unless you’re shopping online, it doesn’t look like you’ll have much luck buying items on Christmas Day. Depending on where you live, maybe you can pick up some beef jerky and sugar-free gum at a Circle K or local 7-11 convenience store. Not many stores will be open on Christmas. Like Santa Claus, many chefs and restaurant workers will be working on Christmas. Everything from Chinese restaurants to waffle houses and even steak houses will be open and serving meals on Christmas Day. I suspect you’ll get the best up-to-date information by performing a search on google news for restaurants open on Christmas.
