Venice, CA -- California State Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Dr. Francesco Columbu to the state Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Dr. Columbu, known to many as "Franco Columbu," is a graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles (CCCLA) and has been a chiropractor since 1977. He is world famous for his Mr. Olympia wins in 1976 & 1981, as well as his many other bodybuilding and powerlifting records. Both Governor Arnold and Dr. Franco trained in Venice Beach, California for many years. Columbu is still a bodybuilding legend in the area.

While many doctors take a non activity approach, Dr. Columbu has a philosophy of getting back into training (exercise) quickly, even when you are injured. There are both mental and physical components to address when it comes to athletic injuries. The correction of vertebral subluxation through regular chiropractic care along with a proper re-introduction to training, have been shown to be a very effective way to get back in the gym, back on the bike, back on the course, etc., and back on the road to improved health. While the individual is focused on the physical activity of training, innate is left alone to do its job of healing.

The mission of the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners is to: 1) Protect Californians from fraudulent or incompetent practice of chiropractic. 2) Examine applicants for licensure in order to evaluate entry level competence. 3) Enforce the Chiropractic Initiative Act and Regulations relating to the practice of chiropractic.
