The Parker Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. Terry Yochum for enhancing the profession with his substantial contributions. Dr. Yochum, director of Rocky Mountain Chiropractic Radiological Center in Denver, Colorado, and adjunct professor of radiology at Southern California University of Health Sciences, is well-known for his work in radiology. The first edition of his text, “Essentials of Skeletal Radiology”, is a benchmark publication for the profession. The text book has sold over 100,000 copies since 1987 and is the required text in radiology at chiropractic institutions worldwide.

“Dr. Terry Yochum has been a dedicated contributor to chiropractic for five decades,” said Dr. Gilles Lamarche, vice president of Parker Seminars, clinics, research, and continuing education of Parker University. “He has worked tirelessly for chiropractic especially in the field of radiology, where he is the recognized master.”

Parker Humanitarian of the Year Award
Each year, Performance Health representing Biofreeze, Thera Band, and Prossage honors an individual whose affinity for helping humanity has made a difference in the world and on the profession. This year, the Biofreeze Humanitarian of the Year Award was presented to Retired U.S. Army Brigadier General Rebecca Halstead. A spokesperson for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, General Halstead has been on a mission to educate soldiers and civilians about the many benefits associated with chiropractic care.

In addition, on behalf of General Halstead, Performance Health presented a $10,000 check to the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress.

The World Congress of Women Chiropractors (WCWC) named Dr. Janette Kurban as the Woman Chiropractor of the Year for her exemplary service to the profession. A 2009, Parker graduate, Dr. Kurban is actively involved in the profession and is a leader in chiropractic. She maintains a practice in Arlington, Texas. In 2008, Dr. Kurban made history as the first Parker graduate appointed to serve on the Board of Chiropractic Examiners (TBCE).
