The Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters (CCGPP) is pleased to announce that “Chiropractic Management of Low Back Disorders – Evidence Based Documentation” is now available online through Northwestern Health Sciences University.

Chiropractic Management of Low Back DisordersThis course, hosted by Wayne Bennett, DC, DABCO, DABCC, was designed to help doctors of chiropractic enhance patient care with the reasoned use of evidence in their clinical documentation. The course uses clinical vignettes to teach doctors how to adopt better strategies to manage their own daily records.

In taking this course, doctors will:

* learn how to use evidence for support and documentation of complex cases using the patient orientated medical record (POMR) format;
* be able to identify when they are entering into the yellow or red zones of patient care, necessitating more detailed documentation; and
* develop ways to access evidence to support the decision making process when necessary.

This is the first in a series of classes based on the published literature syntheses that CCGPP intends to create as part of our ongoing Dissemination, Implementation, Evaluation and Review (DIER) process. This process is designed to help educate/familiarize practicing Doctors of Chiropractic with the available evidence and its utilization in record keeping to substantiate and, when necessary, defend appropriate case management for their patients.
