Dallas, Texas -- Parker College of Chiropractic will host its first annual Parker Gala on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 during the Las Vegas Parker Seminar from 7:30 to 11 pm in the Las Vegas Hilton Barron Ballroom. Proceeds will benefit chiropractic research and the advancement of the profession. All seminar attendees, industry professionals, former speakers, presenters, sponsors, and exhibitors are invited to attend this special evening to support the profession and network with leaders in chiropractic.

Annual Parker Gala Benefits Chiropractic Research"We need the support of the profession in order to, in turn, reciprocate the scientific support that the profession needs," said Dr. Ronald Rupert, dean of Research at Parker College.

Research establishes credibility and plays a pivotal role in decisions regarding health care policy. The need for research is critical in the areas spanning from the care of children to that of the aged; from treatment to prevention; from basic science to clinical science; and from visceral issues to somatic conditions, among others.

The Parker Research Institute has become one of the most prestigious research publishers, seeking to position itself as a global leader in chiropractic research. The institute has been widely recognized through publications for its exemplary work in peer-review journals and with various honors including the 2005 World Federation of Chiropractic award for the best scientific research. It has been able to establish extensive collaborative research relationships with both the chiropractic and medical communities and will continue to leverage these relationships in the best interest of the profession.

"Our ties and growing relationships with research centers in countries like China, Spain, and Mexico provide unique research opportunities," said Dr. Rupert. "We will sustain our efforts to involve field doctors and support them by building the research they need for evidence based practice."

The Parker Gala will raise funds to support chiropractic research benefiting the profession as a whole and to help doctors of chiropractic deliver the best care. The gala will include cocktails, dinner, dancing, a silent auction, and entertainment provided by Earl Turner, singer and Las Vegas headliner. Additionally, the Drugless Research Hall of Fame, founded by Parker College of Chiropractic, will make its debut during the gala. Three research awards will be presented, with one recipient being inducted into the Drugless Research Hall of Fame.

Advanced tickets are required to attend the Parker Gala and must be purchased by December 5, 2008. Individual tickets are 150 dollars and tables of eight are available for 1500 dollars. Table sponsors receive reserved seating for eight guests, table sign identification, and recognition in the Parker Gala program. Parker welcomes donated items to include in the silent auction as an additional funding source to benefit chiropractic research.
