Reflecting the democratic procedures that have long characterized the International Chiropractors Association, five ICA Board seats were filled in an election that returned three veterans to the ICA Board and recognized the talents and abilities of two newcomers. Dr. Gary Walsemann of New Hampshire, Chairperson of ICA's Legal Affairs Committee and Chair of the ICA Committee on Chiropractic Guidelines was re-elected to a two-year term. Dr. Michael McLean of Virginia, who serves as Operational Chairperson of ICA's Legislative Committee, and Dr. Thomas Klapp of Michigan, who serves as Chair of ICA's Membership Development Committee and Co-Chair of ICA's Strategic Planning Working Group, were also re-elected to two-year terms.

New to ICA's Board are Dr. Christopher Quigley of Massachusetts, and Dr. William C. Remling of Kentucky. Dr. Quigley has served for many years as ICA's Assembly Representative from Massachusetts and has been active in ICAs Legislative Committee. Dr. Remling has been active in ICA for nearly three decades and returns to the ICA Board after an absence of some years. Dr. Remling is well known throughout the profession for his service on the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), his leading role in the founding and development of the New York Chiropractic Council and his previous service as a Member of ICA's Board of Directors.

The International Chiropractors Association is the oldest national chiropractic organization in the world. Representing thousands of practitioners, educators, students and lay persons, the ICA has traditionally been and continues to represent the moderate voice of the chiropractic profession. The ICA supports and promotes the interests of chiropractic, chiropractors and the patients they serve through advocacy, research, and education. Throughout its long history, the International Chiropractors Association has sought to educate and inform the public, other health care professions and health policy makers on the principles and definitions of chiropractic to foster a broader understanding and acceptance of the profession. The ICA has also established standards of ethical, technical and professional excellence for chiropractic education and practice.
