That may be considered more of an affirmation than a daily prayer, but I speak it out loud every morning I arise, before beginning my day. Today is the first Thursday in May, and it's the National Day of Prayer in the United States.  (photo: sunrays on the western coast of Southern California )
For many across America, every day is still a day of prayer. In economic upturns and economic downtimes, people worldwide put aside prayer time each day. When I look at the activities I perform each day, I admit that prayer is one activity that I could focus more time on. Living in Los Angeles, one may not expect to see much prayer taking place, but I find I'm fortunate to have friends, that still practice prayer when we're out dining together. Praying for the Nation is something many will be doing today. President Barack Obama is expected to issue a proclamation today asking Americans to pray, but the White House will not be holding any public events. This is an old post, but a 1999 study showed prayer may speed a heart patient's recovery time. Chiropractors may want to read Sharon Gorman's post on Gratitude, a good reminder for those practicing in a chiropractic practice.
