A new book has recently been published titled Pills a Go Go : Fiendish Investigation into Pill Marketing, Art, History, and Consumption by Jim Hogshire. This is posted here as a news article so that we could bring it to your attention for the reasons mentioned below.
First off, We doubt you would ever hear of this book in the major press and probably would not find it at your local bookstore. Secondly, this book is available through our buy_books program. If you want to purchase it, just click on the book image. Third and most important, this is an interesting book that covers the darker side of the pharmaceutical industry and the world’s relationship with drugs. The book is chock-full of stabs at the drug industry. It is full of dark humor and insights into the creation and marketing of many drugs, including ritalin, fen/phen, tylenol, drug filled lollipops, and many others.
This is not the kind of book we would recommend for your office, but if you are looking for some great material that roasts the pharmaceutical industry in a darkened humorous way, this is it. There are plenty of images including lots of hysterical actual drug advertisements.
Warning: This book is written from the outside-in. The author does not appear to be anti-drug, but rather anti-establishment. But like everything on this site that is made available to you, this book has the potential to be a great tool in educating others if you choose to use it as such.
