Red Hot Chili Pepper Pills for Prostate
planetc1.com-news email to the editor
By Michael Dorausch, DC

LOS ANGELES: I read some news headlines moments ago... "Hot pepper kills prostate cancer cells in study" and thought wow, that has got to be one painful study! Curious as to just how a researcher would find out if a hot chili pepper could kill a prostate cancer cell I had to read on.

Red Hot Chili PepperHmmm... First, you have to find the hottest of red hot chili peppers. Then you have to get it into close proximity to a prostate cancer cell. No, that's not right. I better check the facts...

As it turns out, a team of US cancer scientists believe that Capsaicin, the heat-generating element found in hot chili peppers, might help fight prostate cancer. Capsaicin is one of several organic nitrogen compounds in a pungent lipid group called capsaicinoids.

In conducting their test, researchers fed capsaicin orally to mice. Thank goodness they ate the stuff. One of the researchers reported that the feeding was equivalent to a 200 pound man eating from three to eight of the ultra-hot habanero peppers three times a week. I weigh about 200 pounds and if I ate three to eight ultra-hot habanero peppers three times a week I'd be sleeping in the garage.

The habanero chile (habanero meaning "from Havana") is the most intensely spicy chile pepper of the Capsicum genus. Unripe habaneros are green, but the color at maturity varies. Most common colors are orange and red and a typically ripe habanero is 1–2½ inches long.

I can see the pills hitting the market now. Trust me folks, they will be in your local health food store before you can say "Pills Pepper Prostate" ten times fast.

In the meantime, if you notice any habanero peppers missing from your garden you may want to look around for any older male mice. Can you say mousefarts?
