Scholarship Recipients for the Winter Quarter at Life West

Life Chiropractic College West has announced the recipients of six scholarships for the Winter Quarter, 2009. Commitment to Excellence Scholarships were awarded to Allison French, Clinic 4 from Sacramento, Calif.; Dustin Freund, Clinic 2 from Abbotsford, British Columbia; Jane Baxley, Clinic 4 from Danville, Calif.; Brian Morris, Clinic 1 from Redding, Calif.; and Torey Griswold, Clinic 2 from Cle Elum, Wash.

HAYWARD, CA – Life Chiropractic College West has announced the recipients of six scholarships for the Winter Quarter, 2009.

Commitment to Excellence Scholarships were awarded to Allison French, Clinic 4 from Sacramento, Calif.; Dustin Freund, Clinic 2 from Abbotsford, British Columbia; Jane Baxley, Clinic 4 from Danville, Calif.; Brian Morris, Clinic 1 from Redding, Calif.; and Torey Griswold, Clinic 2 from Cle Elum, Wash. Commitment to Excellence scholarships are awarded each academic quarter. Application is open to all students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 who have excelled in one or more of the following areas: community service, health center accomplishments, research, academic achievements, athletics, and contributions to the chiropractic profession and/or other exceptional accomplishments.

25001 Industrial Blvd. - Hayward, CaliforniaThe Meghan McKenna Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Susan Wang, Sophomore 3 from San Jose, Calif., who exemplified an exceptional level of diligence and commitment. The scholarship is a one time memorial award of $1200 in memory of chiropractic student Megan McKenna, who lost her battle with cancer in 2007 at the age of 28. Qualifications included a cumulative G.P.A of 3.75 or higher, and applicants wrote essays describing an obstacle they have overcome and how that process led them to have more love, gratitude, and inspiration for life and for chiropractic–qualities which Ms. McKenna represented.


Life Chiropractic College West, established in 1976, is an accredited non-profit institution of higher learning offering the doctor of chiropractic degree through a four-academic-year program of academic study and clinical internship. The college currently enrolls over 400 men and women from across the U.S. and abroad. More than 3,800 graduates of Life West are now practicing throughout the world.
