Spine Philosophy Group Does Brentwood Meetup
planetc1.com-news email to the editor
by Michael Dorausch, DC

Brentwood chiropractors and others from the SoCal area gathered recently, to discuss philosophy, mentorship, and future group activities. Chiropractic groups like this one meet up regularly, and I feel it's important that once in awhile, these little events, get the big attention they deserve.

Michael Dorausch - Candice Michelle - Ken Gee Ehrlich Having fun is always part of the program, but that's not the only reason chiropractors gather together during non-office hours. Our recent meeting at an LA restaurant on San Vicente Boulevard sparked excitement for everyone that attended. Sure there was good food and great conversation, but there was also something else. There was a reminder that we share like-minded goals and missions, and a common desire to better serve the people in our communities.

I've attended numerous gatherings of chiropractors over the years, in groups that numbered from just two of us, to several thousand. I think of the smaller events as a fellowship of sorts, not in the sense of training that a medical physician may undertake after completing a specialty training program, they are more like a Fellowship of the Ring, or dedicated chiropractors that are in communion with each other.

These events take place all over the map, not just in Southern California. Dr. Sharon Gorman has been hosting Focus Philosophy groups in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania for several years now. (We've even hosted Focus events in Newport Beach, CA) And that's only one of a half-dozen groups that meet regularly in the tri-state area. There is New Beginnings, the Salted Knot, and others.

The FCS gathers for Saturday night events throughout Florida, and when chiropractors are visiting Marietta Georgia, I trust there are still student opportunities to listen to and interact with motivational chiropractic speakers.

You don't have to go Firewalking to have a good time with other chiropractors, but as Texas chiropractor, Rick Wren has said, Either You Get It Or You Don't.

Over the weekend there was a post regarding an April Chiropractic Roundtable Meeting in Las Vegas, and it's being held the day before a weekend conference. Having chiropractors together in one place provides great opportunities for fellowship an inspiration. But as I mentioned earlier, even the smallest of group get-togethers, have their benefits.

About the Brentwood Meetup
Closest to Brentwood were Drs. Luke Cohen and Ken Gee Ehrlich, and they chose the location for our most recent event. We met at Toscana - 11633 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90049 (great Italian food) and will likely meet up there again.

Besides myself, Brandon Takahashi, and the chiropractors mentioned above, there were some new faces. That's great to see, especially when they have so many questions about staying charged up in practice.

If you're in the West LA area and want to join us, send an e-mail reply (envelope above) and I'll get you more details. Will meet again later in March.

For those of you hosting chiropractic events and meetups in other parts of the world, send me your info, take some photos at the events, get chiropractors to share what they're learning, and let's spread the message.
