Yeah Baby! Excited about Chiropractic!
planetc1.com-news email to the editor
By Michael Dorausch, D.C.

I am excited!!! Give thanks to D.D. Palmer for providing you with the finest profession on earth.

Headlines today are informing us of a multi-year survey which has found that many MD's do not like their jobs.

According to the survey, the biggest reasons sighted for their dissatisfaction were lack of independence and the number of hours worked. The lead author of the study stated, "Physician career satisfaction is one indicator of the overall health of our health care delivery system."

Would you want to go to a doctor that did not like what he/she did? Hell no! I want to go to the guy/girl who is excited about what they do. Like Ian Grassam used to say, "whatever it is that guy has, I want it!"

Sometimes I wonder about these nim wits who think working more hours and having less independence is going to benefit any of us. Think about it. Independence, that's got to be the number one thing we have going for us. As a chiropractor, you can work an hour a day, 10 hours a day, 6 hours a week, or 60 hours a week. You can wear a tie or tye dye. Man, you can wear a tye dye tie and no shoes, shouting out... "the power that made the body - heals the body" and charge $80.00 a visit. As far as hours worked goes I know few DCs that are in the office more than 40 hours per week. In my neck of the woods few work Tuesday morning, so we all get to hang out Monday night. That comes in real handy during football season. FREEDOM!!!

The fact is, anyone who gets excited or depressed because of their work has it all backwards. That's outside-in-down-up thinking. You have to first be excited and then put that excitement into your life's work. That's above-down-inside-out thinking. Either you create your world, or you become a byproduct of it, the choice is yours.
