From the Onion (probably the most credible of online medical resources - that was a joke) comes an article that may answer the question so many parents are asking... "Why does my kid express so much life?"

The headline reads "More U.S. Children Being Diagnosed with Youthful Tendency Disorder" and its a growing epidemic!

Just what is YTD?
According to the Onion, Youthful Tendency Disorder (YTD), is "a poorly understood neurological condition that afflicts an estimated 20 million U.S. children, is characterized by a variety of senseless, unproductive physical and mental exercises, often lasting hours at a time. In the thrall of YTD, sufferers run, jump, climb, twirl, shout, dance, do cartwheels, and enter unreal, unexplainable states of 'make-believe.'"

Running, skipping and jumping oh my. Thank god there is help!
According to the article, a drug company is about to release "Juvenol, a promising YTD drug which, pending FDA approval, could reach the U.S. market as early as next spring." The article states that "already available in France and Sweden, Juvenol, the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported, resulted in a 60 percent decrease in running and jumping among users."

This is a great article to get your folks, people, and patients talking about the ridiculous idea of putting kids on drugs. Go to the site, print the article, and get it out to your community!
